Once upon time there lived a man with his daughter Galina. Galina was very beautiful. She had long fair hair and blue eyes. When young men heard about Galina they wanted to marry her, but she didn’t like them because Galina loved Vasil.
One day Vasil gave her a mirror. He said that it was magic and Galina would see on her destiny in it. When Galina looked into the mirror she saw a deep blue sky and a seagull. The girl could understand nothing.
One day servants of one rich man come to Galina and her father. They killed her father and took the girl to the house of the rich man. When Vasil heard about that, he came to the rich man, killed him and tried to save the girl. The servants chased Vasil and Galina. Galina came home, but Vasil fought with the servants.
When Galina came home, she saw that her house was burned. She waited for a long time but Vasil didn’t come .The girl decided to look into the mirror again. Galina saw that Vasil had been killed by the servants. The mirror fell out from her hands and broke into many parts. Those parts turned into the lakes. The largest among them was Naroch. Galina turned into the seagull. That seagull is still flying and crying, but it can’t find Vasil.
